Mathew Nyamwange

Matthew is an accomplished economist and actuarial science expert with a diverse skill set and a strong academic background. He serves as one of the Directors at IRPA, and plays a pivotal role in shaping economic policies and driving research initiatives. His expertise in economics, combined with his leadership abilities positions him as a valuable asset in the field of economics and public policy.

Mathew has obtained several certificates that further enhance his expertise. He holds a Certificate of Craft of Delivery from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, showcasing his proficiency in effective communication and leadership. Mathew has also completed the Kenya School of Government Induction Course, providing him with valuable insights into public administration and governance. Furthermore, he has pursued specialized training in economic analysis and trade and holds certificates from the UNCTAD Virtual Institute online courses on Economic Analysis of Non-Tariff Measures (2018) and Trade and Poverty (2015), demonstrating his commitment to understanding global economic trends and challenges.

With a keen interest in fiscal decentralization and budgetary processes, Mathew completed the “e-Learning Course on Parliaments and the Budget” from the World Bank Group. Additionally, he has honed his skills in statistical analysis through certification from INFOTECH, further enhancing his ability to analyze complex economic data.

Mr. Nyamwange holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
